Well isn’t this refreshing? I’m in a Beta Testing program and I can talk about it publicly. I can even talk to the other folks who are testing the software too. Sure wish a certain company that is all about phones and pads would get the message…… but I digress.
BlackMagic Design has given me the opportunity to test out Resolve and if you follow this thread link on my blog, you’ll be able to follow along with the progress and what I find. This coming weekend I’ll go over the Mac Configuration and the installation of the product and then pass along whatever it is I find. We’ll be using the system in tandem with the Tangent Wave Control Surface.
The big thing I want to test out is the workflow From / To Final Cut Pro since that’s what we use. I already know it’s an EDL workflow, which truth be told I loathe EDL’s, but this is one of those cases where the software is such an incredible tool that I’ll figure out the workflow that best suits us and go from there.
The only constant in this world is change and if you want to use a tool like DaVinci Resolve well you have to be ready to change your workflow to the tool. Just like Apple Color, Resolve is not going to bend its operation to suit your wants, you need to bend your workflow to suit the Resolve Operation. More soon!
Here’s the thread link to bookmark to follow along our Resolve journey…
