Here’s a two day update and in fact I need to stop by in the morning to get a few more photos of where they ended up today. Storms rolled in tonight and then I had a dinner engagements. But the building is moving along at a steady clip thanks to the guys from Metal Building Associates.
AUGUST 19
Prepping the insulation. Rolled insulation is installed behind the outer skin of the building.
The front of the building as they pull the insulation into position.
Putting some of the metal sheets together that will make up the skin around the outside of the building.
Looking into the building from the left side. One of the emergency exit doors is visible to the left.
Editor Roger Mahr and Producer Ann Kellan chatting with my contractor Joe McCabe. They came out to the site to see the progress on the building. They’re definitely excited to get working in the new space!
Almost end of day on August 19th. A few more supports to put into place and then the outer shell starts going on.
AUGUST 20
Outer skin was already done across the back by the time I got there this morning. Here they’re getting ready to unfurl a roll of the backing insulation.
Big roll of insulation unfurled. You can see the garage door opening on the left. That will definitely make it easier to move the gear into the space.
Back of the building pretty well rough finished in. Pipe in the ground is for the backup generator that’ll keep the shop powered up in case we should lose power.
From the front of the building, almost the same shot as yesterday. You can still see some of the insulation rolls in the foreground but the back and left side of the building already have their siding up.
Here’s where they were finished up to at lunchtime. Need to go back and get another shot of where they actually ended up for the day. Definitely will have the entire building sided in by the middle of next week and then it’s on to the brick work.
