The gang and I stopped by to check on the construction. The work crew was on their lunch break so we had the place to ourselves.
I’m in the conference room looking back across the facility. That’s Adrienne and Jenny standing just outside one of the bathrooms. These clears pan steel buildings are just so versatile giving us endless configurations we can put together inside. The roof is about 19′ off the ground so we can literally make the ceilings as high as we want. We’re going with 10′ ceilings all around with 12′ ceilings in the kitchen and conference room.
Adrienne, John, Jenny and Roger standing in the machine room. That’s the media library right in front of me. Where the gang is standing will be a set of french doors that lead from the machine room into the media library. The door on the left leads into the VO Booth. One thing that has surprised me is just how big the machine room turned out. It’s HUGE!
Now I’ve gone to the other side of the machine room and am standing inside the Screening Room. The gang is still in the machine room. The screening room will actually have a second room built inside to isolate it from the rest of the facility and help to tune the room for 5.1 surround mixing.
One last shot standing in the unfinished open space looking back towards the edit suites. I did decide to make one change after walking through the space. That room immediately in front of me to the left side of the picture was originally slated to be an office for clients. Well one of the edit suites on the other side of the building ended up being a little smaller than expected due to the placement of one of the steel support columns. So we’re going to make that room the client office and the room in the back as another edit suite.
We’re moving right along now. I think tomorrow they start putting in the tall 18′ walls to separate the unfinished space from the rest of the facility. Woo hoooo!
