The speed that these guys are moving along with the brickwork is amazing. Then again, it’s just three straight runs that make their lives a lot easier. But I’m just so impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship going on that’s for sure.
My nephew Quinn, Rebecca and my brother in law Randy stop by to check out the progress. They’re standing just inside the kitchen / game room.
Ceiling joists in place above the Media Library. The HVAC system will be mounted up there so it’s the one area that right now is getting a full second floor treatment. In the future, we may add more offices upstairs as we have plenty of room to go up to a second floor.
Standing on the right side of the building looking at how they finished up the corners. Kind of neat how they do that and then when they put the bricks in down the right side, they’ll join up with the front. Had no idea they could just stop at a corner like that, I always thought you had to do the entire corner at once.
There’s the front door area roughly finished out. They still need to do a little detail work. That seam going straight up to the left of the front door is an expansion joint to allow room for the brick to expand when it gets hot without cracking the bricks or the joints. Again, we really love the randomness of the pattern. About 5 colors of brick in all and there’s rhyme or reason in how they are laying it up on the wall.
The end of another week. Bricks should be done by Wednesday and the rough framing should be done next week as well. Starting to plan the move in now…..
