NOTE: May 6_ Adobe just announced the re-branding of their entire product line to CC so it’s now Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
The fine folks at Adobe gave me a sneak peek test drive of the new Adobe Premiere Pro CC and I have to say, WOW. Even better than the experience of seeing it at NAB. First thing that jumps out at me is the speed and responsiveness of the entire system. I was testing on a three year old iMac with a FW800 RAID and it was like I was using two completely different systems switching back and forth between NEXT and CS6.
The second this is just how much ADOBE LISTENED to what the end users were asking for. Sure there are some really nice “new features” but the features that matter to me the most are the ones that will make our daily lives much easier and efficient. In that regard, Adobe completely hit it out of the park.
So in just 90 seconds, here’s my Top Ten new features in Premiere Pro CC. Nothing super sexy here, just good workflow improvements.
Looks pretty awesome Walter. Thanks for quick video!
One question: I’ve been using CS6 on and off depending on client since its release. My biggest pet peeve: responsiveness. If I hit JKL or space bar, it is not as instant as I’d like it to be. I’ll hit space to stop and it will be 3 or so frames beyond where I want it to be. FCP(7andX) and Avid have this down. I am curious if this version is any better? It really is a wast of time to press stop, then have to hit the arrow keys to get my exact frame. Know what I am saying? It may be a video card thing, but I have proven this stall on several different machines, with and without Mercury Engine.
Anywhos thanks again and this definitely is a nice leap ahead for Premiere. I look forward to it. I just want my playback to be precise :).

Your responsiveness is always a product of the system and the media array. Faster for each, the better performance you’ll get. That being said, running Premiere Pro CC and CS6 on the same machine was almost like changing computers when I switched applications. The speed and responsiveness of CC on a 3 year old iMac with an ATI radeon card was noticeable and very welcome.
Thank you for the response kind sir. Either way, looks like I’ll be testing her out. I am glad they are ironing out these lil imperfections. Keep up the good work.
