I was challenged to produce a really colorful demonstration for a professional monitor company and their new 4k monitor model. I decided to combine my two loves, video production and cooking. Shooting with the Blackmagic Design 4k Cinema Camera and a set of Rokinon T1.5 Prime Lenses, the entire demonstration was shot in a single afternoon and edited the following morning. Shot originally in 4k RAW, a simple REC 709 LUT was applied to the footage with no additional color grading. We used a combination of natural light out on the grill and Flourescent softboxes and small LED lighting inside. We kept the color temp around 5000k. While Vimeo can only show you the down-converted 1080p version, it still looks really good. I was also the chef on this shoot preparing all of the items and yes, it was all pretty darn tasty.
