Saturday: Arriving in the afternoon and honestly, this is my quietest day.   If you’re in town and want to meet up to chat, ping me!  I’m staying over in the MGM Grand / NY NY area of the Strip.

Monday: I’ll be in the SNS Booth SL11113 all day and presenting Adobe Premiere Pro Project Management and Project Sharing Best Practices at 10:30am, 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

In the presentation I will take you though best practices for Adobe Premiere Pro Project Management and Project Sharing.   These management tips can apply to other NLEs as well.  I’ll demonstrate the techniques I developed for managing the wealth of digital data created in today’s video production world, whether you’re in the corporate, broadcast or digital marketplace.   I’ll cover the basics of standardizing your project management including: Media Management & Organization, File / Folder Renaming, Transcoding, Media Cache, Shared Projects (2 or more editors sharing the same project),  Cross Platform (Mac & Windows), Archiving.  This is a must presentation for anyone looking to bring order to an expanding digital media workload and library. 

I’ll also be available all day in the booth to answer any questions you have about Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Shared Storage Workflow, 4k, UHD, Post Production and of course, anything to do with cooking.  Pizza On the Grill is my favorite!  So stop on by and say hello!

Mueller Systems Launches mobileRDM with Infographic from BCM

June 1, 2015; Atlanta, GA; – Biscardi Creative Media (BCM) has completed full production on a new infographic inspired spot to launch the newly revised mobileRDM tool from Atlanta based Mueller Systems.   BCM provided full script to screen services on this spot designed to very quickly demonstrate the simplicity and efficiency of mobileRDM.

BCM Principal, Walter Biscardi, Jr. worked directly with Mueller’s Communications team to develop the storyboards and animation. “The Mueller Communications team worked as a partner with us throughout the entire project which is how we love to work with our clients,” said Biscardi. “It’s a much more efficient process and ultimately the end product is so much better when we work as partners instead of ‘the production company dictates, the client listens.’”

The spot had to quickly demonstrate what mobileRDM does and be able to be used in a lot of different applications from the web to trade shows to one on one demonstrations.  Biscardi designed an infographic style spot utilizing very simple, iconic graphics that quickly move the viewer through the functionality of mobileRDM.  The emphasis was on keeping the graphics very simplistic so the emphasis remained on Mueller and their product and not on the slickness of the animation. While music was used as a bed, the spot can be enjoyed and understood in locations where the music can’t be heard such as a trade show or convention.

“When we develop marketing products for clients, we always want to fully understand all the locations where the video might show and how it might be used.  This allows us to create a presentation that works in more than just one location for the client,” notes Biscardi.  “We also want to make sure the client’s message is front and center, so people aren’t just watching our work ‘because it’s cool.’  I’m really happy with both how the spot turned out and how well we worked with the Mueller team.”

Hilary Murdock, Mueller Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, agrees.  “Biscardi Creative Media far exceeded my expectations and delivered a product infographic that was concise, attention-grabbing and fun.  The entire BCM team was communicative, creative and very easy to work with.  I’d highly recommend them for any scale project.”

Biscardi Creative Media announces special new editorial pricing for long form projects.  Editorial rates starting as low as $75/hour for projects that book a minimum of 8 weeks editorial time.  

From conversations with our clients we know that budgets are being squeezed and in some cases Producers are being forced to stay away from experienced storytellers and production facilities because the rates are simply too high,” says BCM Principal, Walter Biscardi, Jr.  “Documentaries, episodics and features are what we love to do and wanted to to come up with something so we can help more projects editorially.  We can lower the costs, especially for the rough cut stage of a project where oftentimes you’re feeling your way through the storylines.”

The special rate includes the editor, workstation and the shared storage server.  BCM editors have delivered broadcast episodic television including “Good Eats” with Alton Brown on the Food Network and “This American Land” on PBS along with feature documentaries such as “Foul Water Fiery Serpent” and the just completed “There and Back Again, A Water Story.”  Additionally the BCM team is editing original 4k programming for the soon to be launched Contemporary Living Network.

Client must book a minimum, continuous 8 week edit session (40 days, 5 days per week).  First two weeks must be paid in advance.  Final payment must be made before any final work or files are turned over to the client.   Rates are for creative services only and do not include project files.   If a project is paused or stalled during the editorial process, rates will revert to the current standard hourly editorial rate.  If the project is stalled before 40 days of work is completed the standard hourly rate will be billed retroactively to the start of the project.  Rate is for a single editor, single workstation only.  Rate will be billed at 8 hours minimum per day, 10 hours maximum.  After 10 hours in a single day, standard hourly rate will apply.  Rate is for editorial with Adobe Premiere Pro only.

Adobe Creative Cloud Fosters Collaborative Workflow

July 17, 2014; Atlanta, GA; – Biscardi Creative Media (BCM) has begun post-production on a new web series called Arson Dogs for world-renowned dog trainer Victoria Stilwell and her Positively website. The series follows Victoria to southern Maine, where State Farm’s Arson Dog Training Program is conducted to train handlers and working dogs together to sniff out accelerants like gasoline and propane at potential arson sites.

Accelerant detection dogs are an essential part of the fire investigation team, working alongside law enforcement officials to alert their handlers of the presence of accelerants. Accounting for a 40-50% increase in arson convictions, these dogs undergo a rigorous training process that is based on positive reinforcement.

Victoria commented, “As a dog trainer on TV and in private practice for over 15 years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of positive dog training with everything from pit bulls to Pomeranians. There’s a pretty substantial debate raging in the dog world between positive trainers and those who believe in old school punishment and dominance, with those more traditional trainers saying that positive reinforcement is nice with puppies but doesn’t work with ‘red zone’ and high-drive working dogs.”

“That’s why I was so excited to learn about State Farm’s Arson Dog Training Program, which uses exclusively reward-based positive training techniques to train the canine Ferrari’s of the working dog world: arson dogs.”

Victoria and her crew spent five days at the school documenting many hours of raw material on up to five different cameras. While post-production continues on the show, a trailer was first completed on a tight deadline: about a week to craft a sizzle from over 3500 raw clips. BCM founder Walter Biscardi, Jr. led the edit with assistance from BCM editors R. John Becker and Kylee Wall.

“Victoria’s team uses the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, as do we at BCM, so we worked with them to show how best to log and organize the materials so we could use their notes to quickly turn the project around.  They did a beautiful job logging and organizing the bins in multiple ways so we could cross reference. Everything was loaded into our Small Tree Shared Storage system which proved a major key in the quick turnaround,” Walter said.

Victoria commented, “We’re very excited to be working with BCM on the post production for this Arson Dogs web series project, as their professionalism, quality, and love of the subject matter – especially dogs – shines through in all their work.”

“The Arson Dogs project is a perfect example of client collaboration at its best. This was a thrill for me personally because I’m a long time dog owner and I’ve admired Victoria’s style of dog training. It was also a lot of fun cutting this with my own Molly the Wonder Dog hanging out in the edit suite with me,” Walter added.

Arson Dogs will be distributed through Victoria Stilwell’s Positively website (http://www.positively.com) and YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/victoriastilwell).  New episodes will be available in the coming weeks.
