Adobe Announcement on end of Windows Quicktime Support http://walterbiscardi.net/adobe-announcement-on-end-of-windows-quicktime-support/ http://walterbiscardi.net/adobe-announcement-on-end-of-windows-quicktime-support/#comments Sat, 16 Apr 2016 23:32:24 +0000 http://walterbiscardi.com/?p=4421 With the recent announcement by the US Computer Readiness Team to uninstall Apple Quicktime on Windows machines, I wondered how this would affect Adobe Premiere Pro on Windows and cutting with Apple ProRes files. Adobe just responded on their blog and it appears that editing ProRes could be a problem right now if you uninstalled Quicktime on a Windows Machine.  Click the link for the full announcement.

So excited to announce that I’m scheduled to present at the all new “Adobe Video World” world event coming up in November in San Jose, California.  FMC has combined Adobe Premiere Pro World and After Effects World into a weeklong event.  You can choose to just attend Premiere Pro conferences or After Effects conferences, or both.  The two events overlap on Nov 19/20 allowing editors and MoGfx artists to intermingle.

Right now I’m scheduled to present during the Premiere Pro portion of the event Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Wednesday, Nov. 18th.   These are my expected presentations:

Case Study: Media Management and Organizing a Network Television Series

Real World example of Ice Cream Nation and Fork U for the new Contemporary Living Network on media managing and organizing the three main cameras, GoPros and audio sources to ensure all the media has unique file names and is easily accessible to the editors for the series.  Also a workflow on archiving the footage after.

A Whole New Way to Color Correct: Using the Lumetri Effect in Premiere Pro.

Possibly the most powerful feature in the current version of Premiere Pro, this introduction to the color tool and how to use it effectively in your workflow create stunning color grades and looks without the need for any third party filters or software.

Creating Custom Looks for Your Footage with the Power of Transfer Modes

Often just used to overlay light leaks or film grain, transfer modes can completely change the way you use transitions and create entire color grades and looks utilizing nothing more than just some production elements and the transfer modes in Adobe Premiere Pro.  I find way too many people have no clue how much can be accomplished in the transfer modes.

I’m excited to head to San Jose for my first time and hang out with some fellow creatives for a few days.   Then I spin right back around to the Atlanta Cutters Creative Ball that following Saturday night!

Registration is now open, check out the link below to learn more about the events and the speakers.

adobe video world announcement

And in case you’re too young to know, there’s a great song called “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?”  sung by the great Dionne Warwick and written by Burt Bacharach.  This November I’ll definitely know the way.

Angie Taylor took the time to post this short video on how to properly install CC 2015 without accidentally erasing anything you don’t want to lose.

I decided to show how easy it is to have a Macro Impact on Micro Budget projects just by having the Rampant Design Tools in your toolbox. In fact just having them can drive entire projects like it did for the PSA described in this video. Recorded from the NAB Show Floor here’s some good tips on making a good impact using just the tools in both Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects along with some Rampant Design Style Effects. It’s an “editor friendly” asset management system that’s super easy to use and integrates nicely with CatDV, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X. Best of all, it’s included with the EVO storage AND it will manage all the connected assets to your system, no matter what type of drive. WallyCam is decidedly low tech and casual. I’m covering both the tech and creative of NAB Show along with some of the fun and experience of Las Vegas and the awesome people who come here every year. It’s a reunion and networking event all rolled into one.
